Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Slate Consulting Services LLC ("SLA8", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information through this website and through the tools we operate for our clients, including our social media management platform (the "Social Engine"), which connects to Instagram through Meta's official APIs.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, submit a discovery or inquiry form, or request an invoice or receipt, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, business details and your message.

Instagram data for clients we manage. When a client authorizes us to manage their Instagram professional account, we access, through Meta's APIs and only with that authorization:

• basic account information (account ID, username, profile details);
• the account's posts and media, and content we publish on the client's behalf;
• comments on the client's posts and direct messages sent to the client's account, including the sender's Instagram-scoped ID, username and message content;
• post and account insights (for example reach, impressions and engagement);
• an access token that lets us act for the account, which we store encrypted.

Client business materials. Content our clients provide so we can create posts for them, such as brand guidelines, notes, images and documents.

Technical information. Our servers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and request times) for security and troubleshooting.

How we use information

• to respond to inquiries and provide the services you request;
• to plan, draft, schedule and publish social media content on behalf of clients who have authorized us;
• to read and respond to comments and direct messages on clients' accounts, with replies reviewed by our team;
• to measure how clients' content performs and improve future content;
• to keep our services secure and working, and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, use Instagram data for advertising, or build profiles of people who interact with our clients' accounts beyond what is needed to respond to them.

AI-assisted drafting

We use AI services to help draft posts, captions and suggested replies. Information sent to these services is limited to what is needed for the task, is used to generate drafts for our team to review, and is processed under the providers' business terms. A person on our team reviews content before it is published unless a client has explicitly chosen otherwise.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to run our services:

• with Meta, to publish content and read comments, messages and insights through its APIs;
• with service providers that host or process data for us, such as cloud hosting, databases, file storage, email delivery and AI drafting services, under agreements that limit their use of it;
• when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, users or the public.

How long we keep information

We keep client and Instagram data for as long as we manage the account, and delete it within 30 days after a client ends our service or disconnects their account, unless we must keep it longer by law. Inquiry and form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business records.

Security

Access to our management platform is limited to authorized SLA8 team members. Access tokens are encrypted at rest, connections are encrypted in transit, and access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.

Your choices and rights

• You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information. See our data deletion instructions.
• Instagram account owners can remove our access at any time in Instagram under Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law.

Children

Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above when we do.
